cant chamber once fired brass

Sounds like you are crushing the case when sizing or seating. Are you using the Lee Collet dies?
If so, you are applying too much force. Size a case, then try to chamber. If that works, then seat a bullet without powder and check.

I loaded 100 243 with 58 gr Hornady bullets. All loaded at the same time and about every 5th or 6th round won't let me close the bolt? Used a RCBS Rock Chucker with the cam engaged at the end so should be consistant. I was using Lee dies. These we put in the box in the order I loaded them.

Once fired Hornady brass in the same gun.

Any ideas what could be happenning?

when a guy is setting up a seater die...not custom micro dies..leave a 1/4" between the die and the shellholder , then adjust your seating depth from there.
No way the die can be cruching you brass then, unless the neck is too tight, or you didn't inside chamfer/ream enough ..this would cause alot of force to be used to seat the bullet.

Also if you don't know if all the brass is from the gun you are firing..get them all..find the ones that chamber and chuck the rest..they make brass everyday..reloading is not cheap..don't be cheap.lol

i just got a neck sizing die for my stevens .308 and having some problems with the once fired brass for this gun. im sure that all the brass i used had been fired from this gun. im using hornady 165gr interlock. the brass chambers fine without the bullet but as i found out yesterday after making 50 rounds that half of them wont chamber. this one got me stumped, can you guys help me out?

check the dia. of your bullets should be .307 or .308 +-
should not be .310-311 (bullets for 303 br) do not use if this diameter

try using a black marker on the neck / shoulder (a 1/8 wide vertical line will do)
then back out seating die (move up) and seat a bullet on case
rub marks on the neck will tell you how far up you are pushing the case
all you need is 1/8 to 1/4 rub mark(not all the way to the shoulder) (tighten lock nut) (you only need it deeper if you are crimping case)
then set your seater stem to seat bullet to the length you need

what i think you are doing is pushing shoulder back and messing up brass

try test round in chamber ---> it should be ok
