Can't find primers in Calgary

The real story has not been made public. I don't know what it is, but I agree that something has happened. I don't think it's a Canada-specific thing as it's just as bad south of the border.

Thank you for the view. Has had me scratching my head for awhile. I can't imagine it will be great for the ranges as people head to it less unless its for an expensive box or two of factory ammo. Or for businesses as people have less reason to visit the sporting goods stores?

Does any one know where I can get large rifle primers?

Ask every friend you know that loads or used to load if they have a slide they can part with...I did that for a buddy that was out of primers, asked at a cowboy shoot and a week later received 5 slides in a bundle...and i dont even know where they came from, no return address & post stamp illegible.

I hate to ask this question and dredge up the conspiracy theorists... but...

What is the reasoning behind a continent-wide shortage of primers?

From what I gathered from my reading, it comes down to supply and demand. With the huge run on ammo, it put manufacturers behind the 8-ball on supply. In order to increase production and satisfy demand, all primers that would normally go into the reloading market were used in "loaded ammo" production. Couple that with the inevitable "it's running out I better stock up" mentality, and we run into huge shortages

No conspiracy here, just economics. Manufacturers can make more money selling pre-rolled ammo than the individual components

Go down to Flys Etc in High River and get put on their wait list. May take a few/many months but they will call when stock comes in. Managed to get Varget, H1000 and Retumbo that way in the heart of the plandemic
