Gun stores and canadian tire are out of stock. What's going on?
And then it's 20$ a box.

Was fun for grouse when I bought it 7 years ago, but now at 50 cents a shot, I wonder.

There's lots where I'm at but I was told when asking for mach2 that all 17 cal rimfire was hard to order. Apparently they slowed its production to focus on 22 rimfire. I figured the 17 stuff would have it own line personally.

$20 a box is cheap from what I have seen on the shelf. $25 is more the norm for what I see. Then you have to add taxes. No idea who is buying it but it sells. Un;ess it goes back down to $15-17 a box I won't be buying anymore. I have a bunch still packed away but it won't last forever.

I still have around 2000 rounds on hand, but I intend to shoot a lot more 17Hornet in the future, so that 2000 rounds will last me a lot longer.

CCI loads all the 17 HMR regardless of what the box says.

CCI has recently started shipping their own branded stuff in some quantity (I have a lot of V-Max and TNT Green in stock - just received in the past 30 days or so, ordered back last December), so it is starting to ship.

Last I talked to our Hornady rep he told me that Hornady was waiting on "millions" of 17 HMR and 22 WMR from CCI that had been on standing order for close to a year. He also advised that depending on the outcome of the US election, we may see significant hoarding (again) in the US which will once again cause a rimfire drought like we saw a couple years back.

And yes, the new reality for 17HMR and 22WMR will be in the $20-25/box range when it is on the shelves. A (standard) box of 22 LR has already started to push the $12 price point for 100 rounds, with 50's creeping into the 7-8 buck range for many of the brands...

Keep looking and if you intend on shooting your 17HMR, stock up on the $20 a box stuff as much as you can or it may just be a "decorative piece" for the next couple of years if we see another shortage..
