I know this may have been asked a thousand time, but i still need to know.

What I'm looking for is a decent varmit semi auto rifle in the .223 and since I can't get my hands on a Mini 14, what would you all recommend has a replacement?
 
Remington 7400/740? Or a BAR? I can't remember if they're available in 223 off the top of my head. 243 makes a decent varmint round too though. Unless you want a Norinco T97, the next price point is probably Benelli MR-1 and then almost another grand up to Robinson Arms. Keltec su 16 is fairly affordable too but gets mixed reviews...
