I have a 12 gauge Canuck Commander and the ammo I have is as follows;
-Winchester 2-3/4" 1oz weight rifled how point slugs
-Winchester Super-Target Shotshells - 12 Gauge, 2-3/4", 1-1/8 Oz, 7-1/2 shot
-Remington Express buckshot 12 gauge, 2-3/4" 9 pellets, 00BK buckshot

What I am looking for is advice on what choke should I use that would work well across this ammo usage. the Commander came with 3 options- Full, Modified, Cylinder. I plan to go to Silverdale for target practice etc and not hunting.

You’ll have to pattern it at various distances with each choke and see which one works the best in your gun with the particular ammo you are using, shot patterns can vary from gun to gun. I always seem to end up with a mod choke but one gun I have shoots the best with a full choke for what I use it for, run a box or two through it and see what it does.

Thanks. Yes, I think Silverdale allows buckshot on their trap and patterning ranges

I have 20x 12ga guns. They all pattern and print slightly different and in some cases very different. Youre going to have to find out by shooting your gun. I have cyl chokes that pattern buck loads as tight as other full chokes and sxs guns that throw perfect shot patterns but can't hit a 2' square target at 30 yards with slugs

Cyl or mod for the rifled slugs will probably get you your best groups.

Same with the buckshot.

Full will get the tightest group with your target loads but that means you gotta be more accurate when shooting at a clay. Id reccomend sticking to mod or cyl.

For steel shot at ducks and geese dont use full. Use mod.

For lead turkey loads use full. Or get a turkey choke that fits your threads.

I have the same gun. Cylinder or mod for rifled slugs an buckshot. There is a rifled choke tube on wolverines site you can purchase too .. Target loads use Full. Turkey loads best to get a turkey choke to get the pattern tighter. I bought the 28" barrel with mine so I have some options. Intend on going deer hunting with it this year.
