If it is the "Magpul" clone stock then the recoil pad is held by the rear swivel. You don't need to remove the recoil pad to change the stock. There is a phillips screw on top of the grip which holds a plastic cover in place. Remove the screw, pop out the cover (it is tight) then you can access the stock bolt.
