Is there a trick to this? Seems pretty straightforward in the M4 videos I've seen, just insert the charging handle, give it a turn and it clicks into place. I'm inserting mine and turning it this way and that way and nothing is clicking or locking in. The handle just pulls right out. I've tried with varying amounts of pressure, wiggled it all over while turning, nothing is working. Do you have to hammer this thing in or something? Brand new gun. Appreciate any help.

It is a bit tricky.

I eventually got mine with pushing on the face of the bolt, the detent inside moves when you do this. Push on the face of the bolt, put in the charging handle and tadaa!

Or something like that. I twiddled with it for a good 10 minutes to get it sorted out.

Just tried this for 20 minutes, still nothing. I appreciate your reply though. Will keep trying, but man....

The detent doesn't move when you push the bolt into the carrier... but it does rotate the bolt out of the way internally so that the charging handle can be pulled out. Sometimes they can be a bit tight to remove the first few times.

Still fighting with this thing. No matter what I try, the charging handle just never clicks into place. I can see the bolt rotating a little when I push on the bolt face, but still, I put the handle in and nothing grabs it. Faulty detent maybe? Frustrating. The charging handle itself looks fine, no wear or defects on the three notches on the end. Going to try to get O'Dell on the phone tomorrow.

Got it! The secret was a tap with a rubber mallet. Thanks for the replies boys. I'm a lot more excited about this gun now.
