Carbon fiber barrels

Yeah 12-$1400 will get you a Proof or Hardy. I was looking at using one on my next build but I ended up going Benchmark 4K contour with heavy spiral fluting. Not a cheap barrel either but I can't justify $1200 for a barrel. Especially for this build being a switch barrel and I ordered two barrels right away. Weight will actually be very close to a proof once complete.

Hells Canyon CF is about 1200.00 plus tax, which is a Wrapped Benchmark Barrel

Either way they are not cheap.......I did pick one up in s 30 cal 9.5 twist so somewhere down the road I’ll use it in a build

CA is about $$800 Cad + another $100 to get it imported and shipped.
I think Mystic sells one for about $1100
And Insite has the Hardy for $1200 ish

They are cool!!!

Almost got one when building my left hand 6.5 Creedmoor.
Factory stock on donor rifle was not going to accomodate the Proof barrel. Went with a Benchmark 5R barrel instead. Cost was half of the Proof barrel.
Am very happy with the performance of the Benchmark barrel. providing 1/2" groups during break in, and shot 3" groups at 400 yards, with Hdy 143gr ELD-X ammunition.

Do have a Magnum Research carbon barrel on my 17 Mach II. Love it!
Will put 10 rounds into less than 1/4" at 25 yards and 1" at 100 yards.

I have a Carbon Six CF wrapped barrel. Jerry at Mystic Precision got it for me. I think it was about $900 + tax. They are McGowen barrels inside.

I have been considering a Carbon Six upgrade for my Weatherby Mark V, I'd be interested in how you like it? would you do it again?

So far I've put 101 rounds through it, all for fireforming the brass to an AI version. I just took an average of a max load from 3 books, reduced slightly, and charged them all the same, so no actual load development at all. Bullets were seated out quite a ways than lighter than bullets normally would be. And I was shooting in some pretty cold weather. New barrel, no break in, no cleaning between shots and I was able to shoot groups about .65 MOA at 300 yards.

Copper fouling after 101 rounds was minimal.

I'm happy with it so far. Insite Arms put it together and Harley figured it was built well with good quality steel. Finish on the blank when I received it was very good.

I would buy again

What are you talking about?

I think he meant 1350, but his math only goes up to 350, so its beyond capacity for him.

350 ??? How LONG you being a sleep for ? :d LOL RJ
