Hello everyone, does anyone know if we will receive any of the carcano TS rifles being imported to the states from europe? Ever since corwin arms packed up shop affordable milsurp imports that you could actually handpick have been kinda few and far between.

Thanks.

I'd like one with the transverse bayonet lug please. The Model 1891 T.S. Moschetto Modello 91 per Truppe Speciali.

That is the exact same model I’m kind of gunning for import. Specifically one that has the transverse lug and has no side mounted sling points, only bottom mount. I have almost every first pattern carcano 1891 model including an ultra rare long rifle with stock recoil bolt and handguardless m91 moschetto with early bayonet and first type extractor. The only one left to get the foundations of my collection built is the first pattern TS rifle. I see RTI in the states is importing mint ones from europe. Hopefully our suppliers here can divert a few to canada….

You know, if you're going to brag, at least have the decency to post pics.

the calvary ones that are in are tempting. I could go for a TS thou.

I have an m38 and a 91/24, interested in the Calvary carbine's that are on sale. But the condition seems to vary alot and I'd be nervous to get a bad one. My 38 is pretty rough that's for sure.

Yes the condition seem to vary a lot however these police surplus guns contain a lot of early pre ww1 carcanos. In fact I have an 1894 and 1896 dated pair of moschetto carbines respectively. I have provided their serial numbers to an active researcher in italy as he had uncovered quite a bit of previously unknown data on specifically the cavalry carbines due to these imports. Both guns are in the D serial block and are 5000 guns apart which completely disproves the current data that says the D serial block was started in mid 1896. Lots of rare and undocumented examples in this trough of police service carcanos as many survived two world wars without being modified or lost. Many early carcano moschettos were converted to 7.35 caliber and had the barrel shank machined round with nothing but the old serial number stamped back on. This makes the current data on early examples few and far between!

Touche!

Moschetto Mod.91/24 1918, 1916
Moschetto Mod.91/28 1929
Moschetto Mod.91 da Cavalleria 1914, 1916, 1919

The Cavs have differing bayonet catches and stock cartouches. Need a decent Moschetto Mod.91/38 da Cavalleria not mention a Moschetto Mod.91 per Truppe Speciali.

Fucile Mod.91 1898
Fucile Mod.41 1947
Fucile Mod.91/38 1939 in 7.35x51

A very nice collection indeed, this is my collection in its current glory minus two bodeos I left out of the photo.
I will have to say, I am quite envious of all your carbine slings, I have all 3 types of carcano rifle slings but no carbine slings yet!

Currently I am focussing on early carcano variations, especially those with little to no documentation. As well as looking for an original bottom slung transversal bayonet TS, I am really hunting for an 1891 fucile long rifle with a welded unreinforced rear sight block and early handguard that has the steel clip on the end riveted on with brass rivets at the nose of the guard. These can be identified as the wood does not go past the band and is infact almost like the handgaurd on a ross mk3. I have an early recoil bolt stock which I stumbled upon by accident (that variation is about 30x rarer than any tromboncino out there) which kinda sparked the initiative to find all the early features of the long rifle which are know to only a few and handled by even fewer. Most people think the long rifle went through almost no changes in production from it inception on through ww1 excluding material shortage alternatives but in fact they experienced at least 6 design changes from the extractor arrangement to the stock profile and detail. Since the italians were so damn anal about making sure everything and anything received an update, and didn’t document everything necessary, there is lots of work to be done in this area of carcano research! If you can’t tell, I’m a bit of a canadiancarcanonut

so my boxing day purchase from the other retailer...bore is very good, clean and nice rifling, metal is clean, no pitting, just a slight dent near bottom of clip well...
wood has lots of minor dings in it and initials and possibly a name. not my family name unfortunately, that would be a find...
