Many of us who have been posting for a while often see the same questions asked over and over. Rather than ignoring the newbie questions or (worse) getting irritated, I thought I'd pen a short article that newer shooters may find of some use. Kinda like paying it back for all those who answered my newbie questions.

Anyone interested can find my article here: http://rifletalk.org/2015/04/19/car...of-precison-rifles-advice-for-newer-shooters/

Cheers,

Bob

Might want to add something about cleaning the trigger and maybe mention not lubing it. The trigger is the Achilles heel of the boltgun. Have seen a few newbies render their rifle inoperable by squirting CLP in the trigger...

It's something that is often taught with ARs, so they naturally think it will apply to the boltgun as well. Then they try to clean it out with bore solvent and that only creates a gummy mess.

Some also get solvent in the trigger from not using a bore guide.
