Hi,
I have a semi auto with a carlson choke extended super steel in Long Range/full 0.700 constriction.

I went up north to hunt white partridge, these small birds are though they have thick feather so I tried my full with target load #7 1/2 and it performed very well without messing too much the birds.
For ducks and goose it works great, but last fall I hunted to a new spot and ducks were quite close so I either destroyed or missed them using my full.
I'm simply wondering what I should use for closer range as I also hunting other partridge and I know my full will destroy them.
Also I'd like to have a choke allowing me to shoot larger shots than bbs for coyotes and deer 00 as well as clays from time to time.
Which should be better the mid range 0.710 (Mod) or close range 0.720 (OC) assuming I want to shoot all the above?

I always used my factory mod choke but simply wondering if this would work for the new situations I never experienced before (00 deer, bbs+ for coyotes) and maybe there's not much difference between full and mod so I'd be better with the open?
Input needed thanks.

I have a full set of Carlson chokes for my 870
Long range to skeet. The farther you shoot the tighter the choke you need.the idea is to keep as many pellets in a 30 inch circle as possible. So at 10 yards open choke is best at 40 yards a full choke will keep the pattern on target..Carlson make a full range of tubes I have one called the (dead coyote) it works wonders with #4 buck shot .

For 00 buck you might want to try some of the 2 3/4" Federal with the flight control wad.It produces amazingly tight patterns in my daughters Benelli with a Carlson mid range black cloud choke.Other 00 buck loads tried didn't pattern anywhere near as well.

The black cloud has the same .710 constriction as the win extended super steel shot (which I have in Full/long range 0.720).
Have you tied with bbs or #2-4 or 7 1/2? if so what's the pattern you got?
Trying to understand if this would work for my needs, small game, ducks and geese within 30 yards.

I believe her Carlson mid range has a .705 constriction. It patterned very well with steel shot BB's and #2's.Have not patterned with7 1/2.

The Flite Control stuff is the only way to go for buckshot. I found that it works best in my 870 with very open chokes. Skeet (.725") or straight cylinder ("730") both gave very good patterns: most of the pellets in the body -0 zone (8" circle) of an IDPA target at 25m.
