I recently purchased a Carlson turkey choke (.673) for my a400 and although haven't had the opportunity to shoot a turkey I shot exactly 7 turkey rounds and 1 target load through this choke. Just out of b.s. luck I took out my Carlson turkey tube and noticed that it has cracked all the way through and all of the length of the tube except for the part that sticks out of the barrel as its much thicker metal. Boy was I shocked when I discovered this and needless to say extremely dissappointed in what I though was a high quality choke at $85.99 plus tax. Needless to say I will be returning this choke regardless of what the retailer thinks and will most likely never purchase another Carlson tube for as long as I live. Let me know some of your thoughts please! I also checked my factory tubes which all seem to thread an tighten in just fine. Could have been a lot worse i guess. Hoping to hear some thoughts and opinions... Thanks

Yikes, scary stuff. Glad you noticed before any damage occurred to yourself or the gun. Have you contacted Carlson about this? I'd be very interested to hear what they have to say.

On another note, this is a shame as it seems pretty tough to find aftermerket chokes for the A400. With this info I can't say I'd feel too comfortable about buying Carlson in the future. Are there any other choke options out there for the 400?

Is your A400 using mobil or optima chokes,
I have 686 with mobil choke and i used HS high density chokes which are really good and inexpensive.
Only problem i have i cant fit two of them on O/U and using one turkey and other regular beretta extended choke,

It uses optima hp chokes and there are a couple different alternatives including beretta chokes, Indian creek, pure gold, kicks, and patternmaster from what I found however they are very difficult to get my hands on. I'm in the process so I'll post my finding once I figure this situation out!
