I just got a new Carlson's barrel for my Remmy 870, and it's a beauty!
The price was $209.99 before tax & shipping and well worth it.
This barrel is a 24" VR ,3" chamber 12ga. and is very well machined and finished
in a silky smooth matte black.
It is 4140 steel and has a chrome lined bore that is mirror smooth. It came
supplied with a Carlson's flush Mod tube. These barrels are made in Turkey
and are far better quality than the newer Remington barrels. They are of
heavier wall construction as well and this one fit my 870 receiver perfectly snug.
(As compared to the sloppy fitting Remmy barrel that came new on my gun.)
The steel rib is fitted with a front Tru-Glo type bead as well as a nice brass mid-bead.
Carlson's supplies barrels fo both Rem 870's and Benelli Nova/Super Nova's.
These barrels can be had in lengths from 18.5 to 28" and with features like rifle
sights, fully rifled bores and choke tube models.
I got this barrel from Al's Corner Store in Arnprior,Ont. They don't show the barrels
on their website yet, so check them over on the Carlson's site first before ordering.
I highly recommend these barrels over the Remmy and Mossberg replacement jobs.
There's no comparison.
