Carry rifle - Auto

It's summer and once again I'm planning extended hiking/camping/trekking in the woods. It will probably last about 4-5 days, and this year I want to start carrying auto instead of bolt action I've had for a while.
What kind of auto do you guys carry out there? I don't know much about autos and some insight into what people carry and for what reason would help me out. Thanks.

Yes, I meant Semi-Auto. Those rifles that automatically load next round, prepare fantastic cup of Earl Grey teas with crumpets, and dust your living room.

If you are talking about a center fire rifle that will stop large game..
You can spend $750 on a Remington 450 Klingon Forehead... I tried a 35 Whelen recently and it is good value.
Or $900-1000 gets you a Browning Short or Long-Trac...nice and light, well engineered and they chamber the short-mags.
What the hell might as well go for broke... the Benelli R-1 will out shoot most hunting rifles of any configuration very lightweight and user friendly, brilliantly engineered and only costs about $1300!

Many more to chose from... BUT

If you had to ask... you better stick to a bolt action.
Semis get some time to get used to and operate with the same efficiency as the ones you already know.

We'll assume you're not in Ontario. Strolling about with any firearm and no hunting licence, here, will get you in a world of trouble. So where you are can be an issue.
The ideal rifle is an M-1 carbine, but they're evil. An SKS or a Mini-14/30 will do, if you're not too concerned with good accuracy. A sythetic stocked M305 is ok too. Weight being the issue. Just remember you can't use any mag greater than 5 rounds with a semi-auto. An M-1 rifle will get you 8 rounds, but they are heavy to lug around.

Heres the 30-06 I tested... Remington Core Loct factory 150s... Sub MOA no problem... the Chryo Treated barrels are worth every penny!

What accuracy do you get with it?
How many jams per 100 rounds?
how heavy?

I love the 6.5x55, but I've heard that Ljungmans are trouble nobody needs.

Bigredd.... I've seen some Benelli sponsored shows and they hunted all over the world with the Vader rifle. The one in Africa was the best. Kudy and wildebeest.... both with R1. I do not recall the calibre though.
I'm not sure that I'd take to Africa anything semiautomatic that is not of ?Kalashnikov design....
 
I had one, liked it but autos are not my thing!!

Suggested it as a alternative to the others!

Accuracy is good, no jambs when I had it but it is not as light as a win 94, that is for sure!!
