That's cool! I've got the riffle and the shot gun would be no problem. Just not sure what I would pick up for six shooters.

When I started I had the rifle and the shotgun a buddy had the 6 guns and we went with that, later I got my own 6 shooters and my buddy got his rifle and a shotgun this all happened over a 2 year period. we shot for matches tegether for a year before we had our own riggin, plus people are always looking to sell stuff. Bring what you got we'll help you with the rest.

What is the most common handgun calibers? I see a few nice .357s around. I could always shoot .38s out of them. Or do people go with .45 colts?
And are the shot guns doulbe barrels or pumps?

All of the above are very much acceptable. I would say that .357mag/.38spl and .45 Long Colt are the most common calibers. I do know of a few that shoot 44-40 and very few at that. There's no doubt that .38spl is the least expensive round and for that reason it's very common amongs CAS shooters. Ultimately it's up to you. The important thing is that you eventually have 2 single action revolvers in a centre fire caliber, a Shotgun, either lever action, SxS (with or without external hammers) or Win 97 Pump and a Rifle, ideally in the same caliber as the revolvers. All of these have to be reproductions or originals of pre 1900 cowboy type guns. From there, it's getting outfitted with a cowboy hat, boots and so on. As I've said earlier this can happen over time ultimately you're there for the sheer fun of it all, shooting older type weapons and dressing up the part all comes together to create the fastest growing shooting sport in the world and for good reason.
PM me if you want more specific information. I'll be happy to get in touch with you and discuss this further.

I think I know where I can find a level action .357 and one single action .357. Not sure if he'll part with eithe of them. Right now IPSC is going to be my main focus but over time I would like to get set up. I've seen it on TV and it looks like a blast!

You're always welcome to come out to see for yourself. Let me know.

My summers are busy with archery and I'll be shooting IPSC but I'm going to try and get out there. I found a 12g coach gun and a set of 6 shooters. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick up the 6 shooters. Unless a previouse offer gets accepted I made on a .45. If it does then I'll pick up the 12g. This looks too fun not to try.
