Case Capacity’s

I have noticed that different brass brands have different capacities
therefore such a chart is only informative
Absolutely True . Most heavier weight cases have less case capacity too . This chart was interesting as it shows case capacities with out using the neck volume as it’s normally filled with a projectile . 👍 RJ

interesting indeed, but (you do know there's a but coming, don't you?)...
for example, Quickload computes the remaining case volume after the bullet is seated.
anecdotally: I've seated 123gr flat base bullets in 300blk 3/4 way down the neck
can of worms: straight walled cases ;)

you may disregard my opinions, I'm back from an average range session and nitpicking everything

I’m ok with you 🤪 lol 🤣 RJ

That's hardly "all" rifle cartridges and I much prefer volume of H2O (in cc's) to the top. Why to the top? For simplicity and consistency, and case capacity without the neck is meaningless unless you load a flat-base bullet exactly to the bottom of the neck and that almost never happens.

Why H2O? because we need to find the case capacity ourselves of the actual cartridges we'll be using. Weigh an empty cartridge and then one full of water and do the math. You'll get grs of H20 as a measurement. Once you've compared the case capacity of cartridges you have on hand, then you might choose the brand with a few extra grs of capacity.

There have been threads comparing brands of brass, e.g. https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/threads/some-7x57-case-capacities.1120440/
