The dry lube that I found to be easiest on my brass and necking dies is Laboratory quality Moly (Molybond), whilst the mica is cleaner, both it and the graphite were too hard on the case necks and dies.
That said, I do not think it will matter for a sporting shooter who will only be loading a couple of thousand rounds a year.
And as to the rest of the question, I find that the use of a lube on the case necks to be beneficial, even though I utilise carbide collets and balls now, I still use Moly.
