Hi gang. I got a refurb SKS with a forced match trigger group.
The sharp edges on the hammer that engage the sear were not so sharp, in fact noticeably rounded.
When working the action, the hammer would occasionally fire.
Also, the step that's supposed to catch when not in battery wasn't catching either.
My only recourse was to weld on a blob of more meat, and file it down to more workable dimensions.
Now, that soft goo out of my flux core wire feed welder is a bit light on carbon content, so I would like to carburize it some.
Question :
Does anyone know where to find case hardening compound in the west GTA like Cherry Red, Kasenit, or Hard-N-Tuff?
Also, any advice would be most appreciated.
