I want to speed up my 223 reloading because I can't keep up with my single stage, so the 45ACP Dillon 650 will get fitted with get a new conversion kit and set of dies. However, I was wondering what kind of mess would case lube, let's say Dillon case-lube, would make in a casefeeder/casefeeding system/channel.

Also, would tumbling loaded rounds for about 5-10 minutes, to get rid of the lube after loading, really be dangerous (i.e. breaking up the powder), or the short time lapse wouldn't make a big difference?

Thanks,

PoFF

My method may take a bit more time, but the results are pretty good.

For the cost of a toolhead, make up one to do nothing but process your .223 brass. Use the Dillon spray lube VERY sparingly, as it goes a long way with the carbide dies. Once processed, toss them into clean corncob media for 10-20 minutes to clean off the lube.

For loading, get yourself either a universal decapping die, or a Lee Collet die and polish the mandrel undersized. Install it in station one to clear any leftover media from the flash holes.

After a lot of use, you might notice your casefeeder plate getting grimey, but a quick wash with hot soapy water and a green pad will take care of it.
