I had a preconceived (perhaps incorrect) notion that sizing lube would be very light.

So when I soaked my new Lyman case lube pad with the included case lube, needless to say I was supprised at how viscous it was.

Are there better lubes out there than the cheapo Lyman lube???

I guess I'm stuck with the Lyman until I buy another pad....

Thanks

Bill

I went to the water based RCBS lube it is thinner and washes off with water.
I also use the Hornady one shot when I need it for cases through the dillon.

I think this is the same stuff we use. It's RCBS anyway and very thin. Comes in a pump that sprays on. I hate that lyman's as well; too thick. This RCBS stuff is great to use.

LEE lube is a decent product but it seem's you really need to gob the stuff on to keep brass from sticking in the die... i have some blue opal water based machine tool lube i will be trying in the near future.

I just use Collet dies - no lube needed.

For lightweight sizing applications, Lyman spray lube works best for me. For heavier operations, wax - like Imperial sizing wax - works best

How would you compare the sizing force between sizing wax and the other lubes? I have some Corbin's swage lube and it is better than the RCBS water soluble stuff but it needs more than water to remove it. I think I could make my own using lanolin as the base.

Another vote for Imperial sizing die wax, for straight wall cases i use my own BP lube as it is water soluable, all natural with a Lanolin base.

Ok so many of you think the sizing wax is the best. I would like to hear why? What is so much better about it?
Compared to the previous products I started out using, it seems to work considerably better it takes very little so it goes a long way. And again, compared to some of the others I've used, it seems to withstand some of the heavier efforts sometimes required in forming cases from larger cases. I assume that is because of the high quality lubricating qualities/components of the product? And last but not least, it isn't difficult to remove from the cases after they've been resized.
