got a small car, no place for pelican case, wanna drag bag, any recommandation? rifle is 120cm over all , plus scope is about 30cm height. Thank you, gunners. and how to protect scope?

I have gotten 2 now from Alberta Tactical, check the banners multiple sponsors carry them.

Maybe one of the guy who was at the westerns can chime in with the brand someone was selling there for rifle cases. Big Medicine was showing me the ones he got and they looked well padded.

What price range?

Can get drag bags from $30 to $1500 if money is no object the new Eberlestock drag bag is amazing, DS tactical carries them. If it is an issue one of the $100-$200 range ones work (voodoo,AIM,Condor).

If you have a cheap scope wouldn't worry, if you have a high end scope I wouldn't worrie outside of lense covers. If you have a high end scope you want kept as a safe queen range showing off scope. A scope sock is sufficient. If you want to spend money lots of companies make custom neoprene covers for scope transport.

Personally, I use an aim soft case, has back pack style ability or handle, enough padding I don't worry once the rifle is strapped in and enough storage that it can eliminate the need for a range bag or extra back pack in the woods.

Good luck.

Cases are great for packaging gear and stuff around guns. No worry of crushing it, etc. Also dirt and water are always separated. I love my Pelican's.

Drag bags are nice for carrying and their smaller size and lesser weight.

My buddy has the Tactical Operations? It's very nice and well made. I believe it was quite pricey though.

I've got a Voodoo drag bag and a Triad Tactical one as well. Both have back pack straps and can be used as a padded shooting mat (although the Voodoo has a much bigger footprint and roll out sections whereas the Triad is more minimal) Both about $200 USD. The Triad one is far nicer in every way. Better material, better craftsmanship and the straps for attaching your rifle, as well as the straps in the auxiliary compartments are all configurable for however you want them to be. No problem shipping up here, just pay the taxes when you pick up at Canada Post.

If you are the one carrying it back and forth inside your vehicle then a padded drag bag of decent quality is good enough. If you are throwing it in the back of a truck / boat or UTV and heading off in the woods or are travelling via airline then there is nothing better than a pelican case. I use both and the choice of the day for that outing is dependant on the circumstance.
