I'm looking for a relatively small lockable hard case (suitable for air travel) to fit one (or possibly two) SxS shotguns, taken down. So maybe 30" long since the barrels are 26"

Any suggestions?

There is a significant difference in the weight of the various brands that are "durable" enough for air travel. Don't skimp on durability or "lock-ability". My all-aluminum case seems to weigh a ton but has survived trips to Argentina and and many cross Canada flights. Just a thought.

I'd suggest Pelican or Nanuk, BUT they don't make the appropriate size for what you ( or I ) want. They make them too long. Their "takedown" case is 37" inside dimension. Much bigger and heavier than necessary. I'm still looking!

indeed... I noticed that when I checked the websites. The Negrini has better dimensions, but I'd like to see one in person before committing. And keeping my eyes open for other options.

What I did when I went to Namibia with a couple of take down rifles was something like this Pelican: Two layers held the two firearms perfectly with custom foam. And it was under the airline weight limit. And it looked like a suitcase.

So found some pictures of mine - not exactly what you need, but it may give you some ideas. It is an SKB case purchased and fitted in Saskatoon at Kaizen cases. The two layer system worked well.
