Case Trimming

I use the Lee trimmers. You can turn by hand or in a drill. There is a different pilot for each caliber, screw into cutter, insert shell into holder, pin on cutter goes through flash hole and stops cutter when right length is reached. Check out the lee site for photos etc.

Gracey or Girard trimmers if you are working with a large volume of cases. I have a Gracey and it takes about 3 seconds to trim to length and chamfer inside and outside. Work like an electric pencil sharpener.

I wondered how well the Lee trimmers workeed. I have a RCBS and the process tends to be slow and often I overtrim

I use the lee trimmer in a cordless drill in front of the TV with a towel on my lap for the shavings. Use a little steel wool at the end and no point in tumbling.

I use a Lee setup for my mass-produced brass, and an RCBS hand-turned setup for my precision rounds... but does anyone know if Possum Hollow products are sold in Canada? Brownell's is listed as a distributor but I checked and no luck on the Kwik-Trim. I'm going to check Sinclair (since they're affiliated with Brownell's) right after I post this - but if anyone has any leads, I'm all ears!

Edit: no luck on Sinclair either.

I got my Kt-1 with power adapter from Lock-stock but they are out of business:( I have only used mine for under 20 pieces of brass and then switched direction and now trim on my RCBS case prep center...

Lee trimmer here as well.

I clamp the cutter down on the workspace, then use a cordless electric screw driver with the shell holder on it and bring the shell down on the cutter. Once it's done, I grab the deburrer and, with the shell still on the screw driver, take a few seconds to finish it off.

I used to use a cordless drill but the thing gets to be too bulky and a bit unwieldy.

Lee trimmers: Simple, cheap, & easy to use.

The Lee trimmers work great for me. I just mount a jacobs chuck on my wood lathe, mount the case holder in it, & start trimming/camfering. Also easy to polish the cases at the same time with a piece of steel wool or an old sock with a little polishing compound on it. Nothin' fancy, but gets the job done for me.

Lee trimmer and pilots for me too. Use it in the drill, then grab the chamfer tool and done.
Quick and easy! And as with all Lee stuff it does the job and at a reasonable price.

I'm fast with my Lee but I hate undoing/redoing the lock stud - I can get my .308 cases done in probably 15 seconds each, including chamfer/deburr/wipe lube with a shop towel... but I love the way the KT is like a 'pencil sharpener' and doesn't cost $350.
