I met this guy at my work and he showed me this round that he had in his pocket. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before. He told me that he is an engineer developing a new kind of ammo. I checked out his website and it looked very interesting. I thought it was cool that this guy was Canadian and developing this technology. Watch the videos.

The name Usel Caseless Cartridge rings a bell for me.
Voere rifles of Austria was playing around with that a dozen or so years ago.
I have a box of their .22 cal rounds in my collection. They also made a .30 cal, but I dont have one.
They did market it in the US, but it never caught on, and a gun with no ammo supply is not much good.

I see that there is Canadian, US, Turks & Caicos, and Austrian investment listed. Is the Can. guy local? I did notice a 604 phone #

" Semi-conductor type primer ignited electronically"
Sounds interesting, but you have to wonder if in a battle situation a well placed nuke or two with it's associated emp might not make ones unsheilded electronic weapons systems/ammo useless.

Caseless ammo has been played with by most manufacturers since at least the mid 60's. HK tried it without success.
Those Vulcan 'CTA' rounds are hot loads too.

His system looks identical to the one that came out 20 or more years ago. The sight seems geared to investors only, not a bad things necessarily. The company is registered in the Turks as well.
Big issues with caseless is durability of the round, both in handling and in extraction (unfired), and obturation. The brass case normally does the job of sealing the breech.
I have seen every case and polymer cased round come and go. Our friends brass and steel are still here.

The seem to have solved the obturation issue by using a permentent "case" built into the bolt head (see video) in which the cartridge sits. This expands Now the issue become durability, and fouling.

I spoke to one of the guys from Vancouver today. Peter Keller is the local guy involved with this.

I met the local guy that is involved with this caseless ammo.
Here are some different varieties, some of his project smaples, and some from my cartridge collection.

Along the top is a strip for a Hilti gun (blanks to shoot nails into concrete)

Main row L to R.
.223 Rem to compare to
original Voere 223 round for the VEC-91 rifle
UCC long type 223 (I'm sure it has a name, but I didn't get it)
UCC long type 223 showing booster (white) and primer disc (dark green)
UCC short type 223
UCC 9mm pistol cartridge, (and slug only, showing tiny stub that propellant is molded to)
UCC 22 , similar to a 22 rimfire in power
Daisy VL caseless ammo for the obsolete Daisy VL air-rifle
Thunder Charge self contained ammo for muzzle loaders

Along the bottom is a retrofit for 223 / 5.56x45mm rifles. By using a cut down 223 case and conventional primer (rather than electric primer), and a molded charge, a rifle can accept a "semi-caseless" round.
