Hi, I need help find load data for powder-coated cast 230gr 45 ACP truncated Cone bullets. Many internet searches as well as my books have no data. I want to use Titegroup or 700X powder. Need c.o.a.l. As well. Shooting a 1911 and a JR Carbine. Any help greatly appreciated!

Load data should be on Hogdon's load data website. COL will be listed but check the case length to make sure it fits in your mags.

You won't find lead data with Sierra, only jacketed.

4.5gr TG - 5.1 TG

or

4.0gr 700X - 5.0gr 700X will get you there.

This is from the Lyman manual using a 225gr cast bullet.

There is only data for LRN on Hogdons online and my book. Lyman’s 48th doesn’t have anything, nor Sierra’s online.

Use LRN data for the same weight. Can also use published 45acp jacketed bullet data safely for cast bullets of the same weight. Don't use published cast data for jacketed bullets.

Excellent info, thank you everyone! The person I bought them from said specifically to seat to 1.110 OAL and it seems really deep and I fear too much pressure. I will start at 1.27 and see where it takes me

The 2019 Hodgdon reloading manual shows a 230 RN cast bullet with 4.5-5.0 grains of 700X, a great choice.

The TiteGroup load is similar as 4.0- 4.8 grains.

A truncated nose 230 grain bullet? Wow! While the TC 230 grain bullet & the 230 RN bullet share the same weight, the seating profile might differ. I suggest you switch to a 200 grain bullet instead. Across a pistol & a carbine platform, the lighter & more common 200 grain bullet offers increased velocity over the heavier & obsolete 230 grain, plus less recoil, and a cleaner paper target hole.
