Cast bullet lube

I recently received an 8mm-06 K98 rifle for helping out on some gun transactions. With the rifle can some 197gr FMJ's(141), 245gr LRN (41) and 195gr LRN (93). The FMJ's are great since they reload just fine. The 245gr are already lubed and have a gas check but I can't find data for such a heavy bullet. Now my problem is the 93 195gr LRN bullets are not lubed and do not have a gas check. How much work is it to at least lube these bullets? I think I can get a bullet luber for .323-326 caliber from the remaining estate stuff.

Is this too much work or should I just sell the 93 bullets to someone how has this equipment already?

Seems a shame to have to buy lube and a sizer for only93 bullets. If it's free then no problem.

Maybe someone in the TO area who reloads has a sizer in that particular size and can lube them for you for a couple of coffees or beers.

A 50/50 mixture of beef suet and bees wax will do just fine for the lub. If you had to buy both it may cost as much as a stick of lube, though. You can take your hardened lube and rub it over the bullets, lengthwise, to fill the grooves with lube, also. This is a toss up of which is best, this method, or pouring the hot lube over them as they sit in that abandoned pie pan, then cutting them out after it hardens, with a home made cake cutter. Both methods are a bit messy, but will get you by for small numbers of bullets.
They should be OK in you rifle without sizing.

Lee tumble lube might work. Just put the bullets in an old margarine tub, squirt in some lube, shake, and lay them out to dry on their bases. I stand them on wax paper.
You probably should use two coats on a standard type bullet.
This stuff is messy, but it does work.

If you are not going to use a gas check, you'll have to load them down considerably to avoid leading.

If they were mine (having no rifle) I'd throw them in the melt pot for the 45-70.

No Pot

Unfortunately I don't reload much cast for rifle and get all my lead for the pistols in bulk that is already pre-lubed. I'll try the easiest method of just rubbing the lube into the grooves.

Johnny if you lived closer I would say just come by and pick them up.:dancingbanana:
