This may be a dumb question, but from what I've read, I cant decide if I'm interpreting it correctly or not.

Can a cast lead bullet, when put through a sizing die like the Lee Lube/Sizing Kit, be 'enlarged'? ie. put a cast bullet dropped at .311 through a .314 sizing die and come out with a .314 bullet? I'd assume not but... can you?

Short answer. No.

You really need to check out the castboolits site. Do a search there, for the term "bumping up". Essentially, squeezing the bullet shorter to swell it in the middle a wee bit, up to above the size you want. More of a PITA than getting a mold the correct size to start with, by a long shot. But possible.

Do a search on "Beagling" a mold too. Making the mold drop bigger bullets, by spacing out the mold blocks with tape.

Worth a look.

In the end, my money is on buying a correct sized mold.

Yep! What Trevj said.

A small piece of aluminum flue repair tape ($7 at Home depot) between the halves will give you a fatter boolit.
