Anyone here shooting cast bullets in their 50 BMG?
I found a couple of interesting 900 and 945 grain bullet molds but figured I would research it a bit prior to ordering the molds.
I think this would definately make it a bit cheaper to shoot this pig

So long as you are not expecting to match the performance of your jacketed load it is feasible. The 50 cal is a high pressure load 53,000 psi to 65,000 psi. The most a cast bullet can stand would be 44,000. Also with a cast bullet you will need to gas check so the base will be plain and the ballistic coefficient will be much lower than the boat tail.

with a 975 grain gas checked bullet I am not anticipating shooting to the same distances. farthest would probably be 600 yards just for kicks.

7 yeah thats right seven bullets to the pound. make a few melt a ingot make a few melt a ingot repeat as much as neccessary :D
