Cast bullets in sabots

I do it :)

I use the same projectiles I cast for my 45ACP in my 50cal inline for plinking. I use the yellow TC sabots.

Edit: saw you asked about hardness. My cast WW projectiles have a BH of ~14. Projectile hardness doesn't play a factor if your using a sabot as the sabot is what provides the gas seal and engraves in the rifling. I shoot a 200gr SWC with a charge of 80 grains by volume of blackhorn 209 for around 1700fps. I get 3" groups at 100 yards in my CVA.

I use the green MMP sabots in my .50 cal percussion Lyman Trade Rifle with wheelweight cast lead 205 gr .44 cal bullets (from .44-40 mold).

Their packaging/website says 70 grs FFg = 1480 fps with 180 to 200 gr bullet. 80 grs = 1560. 90 grs = 1680.
Pyrodex equivalent gives a few fps more.

The instructions say not to exceed 150 grs FFg.

I use 240gr 44 mag bullets in sabots in my Lyman GPH.
Pure WW, water dropped. Normally I use 70gr FFg but noticed that I get better accuracy with 100gr FFg. Can keep them within 2" at 50yds on iron sights which for me is quite good (horrible eyes).
