Well I pretty much proved to myself that my 1oz Lee Drive key's don't shoot worth a hot damn thru my Carlson rifled choke tube on the end of my Win.1200 24" deer bbl. past 25yds:( ,About a 9" spread But when I shoot 1oz Brenneke's thru the rifled choke they all go into the same hole, So it looks like I'll be stocking up on the Brenneke's.

First off, slugs loaded in shot wads aren't designed to be shot through a rifled barrel or choke. Nor are Forster slugs.

Brenneke's have felt/cork/whatever, along with an over powder seal screwed to the slug thereby making it longer, and receptive to a rifled barrel/choke.

Lee Slug Mold features the exclusive drive key. The drive key positively rotates the slug in rifled shotgun barrels. The key doubles as a support rib allowing use of a standard trap wad - no need for a support wad or base filler. Sabot wad design outperforms rifled slugs in rifled slug barrels. Velocity and accuracy meet and exceed expensive factory loaded rifled slugs.
I thought that was the intention of these slugs, for rifled barrels/chokes

I haven't tried the Lees but I use a .715" round ball with the bottom half of a trap wad(petals removed) and it shoots suprisingly well in the smoothbore, it's about 1 3/8 oz. and hits real hard. For my BP shotguns I use the same RB with 90grs. of FFG, a card wad, soft lubed felt wads, to take up space, and finish off with a roll crimp, they shoot slightly better than the smokeless loads.
