"Casting" a retriever

Today was the 2nd time my 15 week old retriever swam and fetched.

Each and every time she lost sight of the stick, I yelled to get her attention, raised my arm in the direction of the mark, and off she went, right on target.

Freaky huh? Do some dogs have a natural tendency towards being cast by hand signals, or is this pure fluke?

the tollers and retrievers have a natarual incling towards hunting for a master then most breeds i wont say instinct but yes an incling
