Does anybody here do it? If so how feasible would it be to create a bullet out of white gold and a shell out of yellow gold properly chambered say for 9mm or 38super? Just for a necklace:) (and on the reverse I wonder about a .50bmg!)

Two guys who do, are Rick Teal (member here), and steve, an absentee member here. steve can be reached over at http://www.canadiangunslingers.com/forums, or at his page, 303british.com

I've no idea if either have ever tried precious metals.

Commonly? Probably not. But I suspect that neither .270 REN, .22Boss nor 6.5x39 are common either.

In theory the gold case could work if it was the right alloy, it would have to be a low carat alloy, maybe 10k max. And even then it probably wouldn't last long.
A low intensity cartridge like .38 S&W or .45-70 would probably be a better choice.
