Casting

Looking good. Your alox looks a bit thick I have diluted it with mineral spirits to get a more even coat, lots of alox tends to attract crap. I only tumble lube the boolits I don't powder coat. I also lube by hand with store bought lubes and homemade lubes, it's faster than pan lubing then just run them through the sizer to make them better. The 185 lee is a great boolit but lacks diameter, I have beagled and powder coat mine to get .314 minimum size with great results.
Lee is ok, great gear to start with, with a bit of experience and redneck engineering it works just fine.
It's addictive and fun, I don't know if will ever be cheaper but it's hobby. I really like reduced loads, not to much noise and less wear and tear on your gear, again fun. Noe makes excellent molds, some great designs and some can be ordered with hollow point capability. I never stop learning, reloading, casting, ballistics and such. I have launched hundreds of pounds of fliers and keyholes not so much now, its all part of lead boolits.
Be well

When you put the bullets in the tumble lube container, use a hair dryer to heat them for a minute or two until they are too hot to hold in your hand. Then add the lube and start tumbling. The heat causes the lube to thin out and give a consistent thin coating, and an added benefit that the bullets dry much quicker. After lubing i spread out the bullets on newspaper to finish drying. Usually dry to the touch and stickiness gone in about 1-1/2 to 2 hrs.

All my reloading kit is Lee.

Dies
Presses
Molds
Priming tool
etc..etc

I'm fine with Lee products. Haven't failed me yet. Good value for the dollar.

Let's see some pics of this casting session.

X2 ! I cast and reload for over 10 different calibers and the Lee products never let me down. To each their own.

I use a lot of LEE products and have no issues what so ever, it’s a tremendous bargain for what they sell it for.

About a third of my moulds are Lee. 104 moulds total. The only issues I have is the sprue plates sometimes have a sharp edge which needs a slight sanding which helps stop scratching the top of the mould block. Some styles, calibers and weights are not available for what I want.
For the money paid an excellent product.
