Caught the 1911 Bug! Help!

If you want to live on the bleeding edge, try speccing out your custom from someone like Nighthawk Custom where I chose just about every feature of my Predator II. The only two things that stop me from ordering another are the excruciating wait times and the $4k I don't have. My next refinancing ploy has to take care of the SIG P-210 Legend Target that is walking from Germany on one leg. If 1911's are bad (and they are) take pity on the P-210 cult. Some of them will sell their soul for a spare magazine of the right vintage.

I have a solution for the waiting problem which I exercise by buying holsters and other gear for guns I don't have. I'm putting the UPS's kids through university!!

Here is the Predator II wearing one of the sets of grips hanging in its closet:

Army Navy Store in Halifax.

Had one more not spoken for as of yesterday.

Not sure if they will ship out of province.

Good luck!

Thanks for the comments.
I'll be shooting the S&W for the first time today. After playing the two pistols last night, I'm not a big fan or the CT grips. The S&W grips are a bit big for my hands, I prefer the thinner handle of the Ruger. Maybe I just have to get use to it but I do have new sets of grips on the way so will try those for the smithy.
The fit and finish on the S&W is better than the Ruger hence the $400 difference. But the Ruger is worth every penny I spent. The Ruger has been flawless, not a single hiccup. Very tight fit between the receiver and the top slide, after 250 rounds the Ruger just keeps getting better. The slide action is very smooth. One thing I didnt like with these two are the MIM parts ie. slide lock n hammer. Also the front sight of the Ruger wasn't centered.
Anyways will update later today.

Thats not much really. Id like to see how it does with 500 or so straight rounds. I found my Sig 1911 would have the odd FTE or FTF as it got really dirty.

After reading this , I'm very happy that I stayed up late last night to catch an unexpected prize. I'm now the proud owner of my first 1911, and its a Ruger SR, bought right here on the EE ! Like a few guys on here I really wanted one and was just surfing through the new posts when " boom," there she was.. Now all I have to do is wait a mind numbingly long couple of weeks - or whatever thier random wait time is now-a-days - to get the Ontario CFO approval for the transfer. Range report to follow..

Sometimes a virus mutates. You could be vulnerable to a different strain of 1911 virus, the deadly commander sized flu.
