I'm getting bored of shooting paper off a bench, and you can only shoot so much skeet.

Is there a better source of info for shoots like this in the Edmonton area?

try wild rose action shooters. they hold a monthly three gun match and just finished holding a steel match. they are out of spruce Grove and they do have a web site.

Our next match is on October 10 at the Spruce Grove Range. Start time is at 1000 although we prefer to have people show up at 0800 to help set up etc.

If we follow the usual pattern it will be 3 rifle stages, 3 shotgun stages, several IPSC style stages and 2 steel challenge style stages.

If you have a rifle and shotgun bring them, if not bring some ammo or some cash and you can shoot other guys gear. I'll make sure to bring some extra ammo.

Hope to see you out there.

Is it noob friendly? People won't look at me like I'm from mars if I need to use someones pistol? I should have my AR by then and my 590 will do for a shotgun right? What type of shells and how much ammo do I bring to something like this?

We're pretty noob friendly. Most guys have a pistol but I can bring a spare with holster etc.

AR ammo: cheap 55gr will be fine

Shotgun: Most guys are running 7 1/2 target loads, but #4 seems to be the best all around load. LEAD ONLY cause we are shooting at steel targets.

I'd bring 2-3 boxes of shotgun ammo a around 60 rounds of rifle ammo.

I've got some pistol ammo for my XD40 and some mages etc.
