Has anyone seen these before? A box of them came with my Desert Eagle. They have a plastic bullet filled with 170 pellets.

They won't cycle the action ;); however, of the shotshells out there, the .44 and .45 ones are the most effective. :)

I even recall someone shooting the .44 magnum shotshells in .44/.410 chambers (in this case, of a Rem 870) - please be careful with this information!

They're made for snakes and rats. They definitely will not cycle your DE. Shot fired out of a rifled barrel flies in a spiral and leaves big holes in the pattern. They're a waste of money.

I know they won't cycle the action. I don't think there is alot of stock 44 mag that will fully cycle it. I know American Eagle won't cycle it all the time. I just ordered 1k hotter loads for it from Wolf Bullets. The hot loads have no problem cycling the action :) The shot shells will fit in my 44 revolver just fine.

I think I still have several boxes of those .44 CCI 'Shot Capsules' around here someplace....blue plastic capsules with white plugs for the back end...you fill 'em up with fine shot (I suppose anything from 7 1/2 to 12 would do) and load them over a small charge of Unique or maybe a little 2400. I got them on a close-out somewhere, many years ago and tried a few in a Model 29.

Pretty well useless. I always wanted to try filling them with pickling salt, except for not wanting salt anywhere near my guns!:D
