I picked up a few boxes of these today and tried a couple. Pretty much a mouse fart out of my Quad. I'll have to set up one of these days and see how they group at 50 yards.

I haven't found them to be overly accurate. My lock shop got these in for me by mistake, I'd ordered #0064 32gr. SHPs, the high velocity stuff. Grabbed a few boxes anyway. Blew-up small, wormy apples better than the the standard CCI Quiet 22. Doesn't really tell you much though. lol

They group terrible at 50yards. Really no consistancy in powders i found.
I use them for pigeon in the spring and they work great under 30-40yards. Hell of a time guessing the drop with different ranges.

Yep~wouldn't expect much at 50 yards...remember, 710fps...or thereabouts. You can see them flying through the air if you're using a scope. :)

Agreed - crap for range, and they tend to land wherever they feel like landing... But there's definitely something to be said for having your firing pin be louder than the bullet!

Just picked up a box of these, anyone have any idea how well they work in a semi? Thinking of using them for grouse during deer season when driving in or out on the road or taking a quick walk between hunts...

They will probably eject the round if your action is smooth and clean but not pull far enough to load a 2nd.
Im sure you could cut a few coils out to get it to work.
Thats what happens with my dlask ruger

Having used CB longs, CCI Quiet 22, and these new Quiet SHPs, I'd say there is ZERO chance they'd cycle a semi. Hand crank it, or use a bolt gun instead.

These are meant for short distance. 10-15 maybe...20 m.
Effective though. They will extract in a mod 64 Cooey but won't chamber next...
I use these in a 13" bolt savage as well Killed a groundhog one
Shot. Benefit is they are longer than 22 long without the power and noise.

I wouldn't say ZERO... They work ok (definitely not 100%) in my Ruger MKIII. Quiets start at 0:15 in the video:

Kind of defeats the purpose in a handgun though, isn't nearly as quiet compared to shooting it out of a longer barrel.

They have just barely enough bang to kinda-sorta-mostly extract from the chamber on my 597. I've never seen a quiet-22 actually successfully eject from the gun (they just get caught by the bolt), and there's no hope in hell of it ever cycling far enough to grab a fresh round. Total failure on all fronts - I just feed them to the boltgun, now (where they do work very well).

Picked up a box and tried them in my SR22 today. Not enough power to even pull the casing all the way out of the cylinder. Quiet, but still louder than the firing pin.

I tryed these in my bolt gun and they Group terribly and in my s&w 22a and 10/22 they wouldn't cycle. best luck ive had with subsonic ammo is Remington subsonics cycle good my 10/22 and Smith and Wesson 22a also group very well in my savage bolt but they're very dirty.

I tried some of these in my shorty 10/22 on Sunday. I didn't expect them to cycle, but I thought if they shot decently, it might make a decent small game round when deer hunting. They really didn't shoot very well at all out of my gun (like 1.5-2" 10-shot groups at 50 yards). I've been shooting the Remington subsonics (louder, but still fairly quiet) and they are one of the tightest grouping rounds in my Ruger, and cycle 100%, so I'll just stick with those.

Bought some in both the Segmented and lead round nose varieties. Totally unimpressed. The most inaccurate and dirty fodder I have ever thrown down my rimmies. Yeah, it's pellet rifle quiet. So what if you cant hit the broad side of a barn with it. Go with the CCI standard velocity stuff. Quiet enough, leagues more accurate, and cleaner. And, 710 fps won't cycle my 10/22 Takedown.

Are you guys surprised these won't cycle a semi? I don't know why anyone would be expecting different.
Now, grouping like crap, that is surprising and noteworthy.
