CCI Quik-Shok

like Stingers

They are made to be identical to Stingers except the frangible bullet. Check the CCI website for details, but I believe that also means the longer casing/shorter bullet configuration. I tried them in my 10/22 and my Papoose. No problems, but maybe not as tight in the groups. Never shot an animal with them.

I find they're not as accurate as other hv ammo. However, they'll do a number on pretty much any critter you decide to send to kingdom come.

Out past 100 yards I'd go with something like Winchester Power Points or Velocitor for the added energy, accuracy and bullet performance.

Velocitors are deep penetrators (12") and low expanders (.34) and are designed for larger game like Coyotes or Badgers. The Stingers and Quik shoks blow up so are perfect for anything you dont want to eat, A Stinger will literally blow the head of prairie Chicken. Stingers are accurate in my papoose too.

Well, they're not the MOST accurate rounds in my gun, but they're accurate enough that if I miss a gopher at anything under 100yds, I know it's me.

They result in the most spectacular kills you can get out of a 22lr.

The velocitors do a lot less damage - more penetration, but less acrobatics

visually, they look to be the same length as the Stingers. I confirmed that they are actually identical in brass lenght with calipers

Just tried these out today. I got a good deal on a box of 50 and decided to take them out to the ol' gopher patch.

As with stingers these do not shoot the best in my 10/22. They group about an inch at 50 yards. They group about a 1/2' in my marling 925. This is still minute of gopher at that range so I decide to snuff a few out.

All I can say is wow! Having used stingers before I expected some increased damage over minimags. I did not expect it to be so violent. At 50 yards its easily comparable to 17hmr rounds. They kick a standing gopher up into the air and do lots of damage. It was quite an enjoyable day.

At $4.99 for 50 I wouldn't buy it every day, but for once in a while it was definately worth it.
