I went shooting yesterday and took my chronograph with me.

10 shot average

CZ 452 Scout, 16.2" barrel, 1063 fps

Savage Mark II TR, 22: barrel, 1055 fps

advertised speed 1070

Just thought some of you would find this helpful

I do thanks, CCI standard is all i shoot out of all my .22's. For some reason it's like a wonder bullet, it groups really good from any gun i've tried it in with the exception of one BSA martini model 13. Nice to see it's coming in Under the sound barrier yet very close to advertized speeds. CCI is to me the benchmark for quality affordable plinking ammo.

Im curious Clayne_b, did you have any rounds that went supersonic? i believe thats over 1080?
 
Not sure what if any relevance this has. The advertised fps could have come from a different length barrel, and there are many other factors that can change things.

I am more interested with spread that average fps.

Any info there?
 
Wow that is actually a bit more variation than I expected to see, but I guess it is still cheaper .22.

A fellow CGNer suggested separating a brick into boxes with similar weights cartridges. Looks like that might tighten up groups and shrink variation a little.

Gonna have to give it a try.
