I recall a thread about sub sonic 22 ammo. It may have been on AO, but meh. I have a few varieties and thought that I could offer this.
Targets were 50yds away. Diet Coke should be sought after with extreme malice and maximum violence so, there you go.
It is worth mentioning that my 20” MKII is sighted for 36gr hp mini mags. The CB long had 13” of hold!
I also brought the CCI quiet segmenting hp ammo but after winging 3 cans, i conceded that they just do not group well enough in my rifle and gave up wasting targets.
From left to right is:
CB long LRN. Quiet 22 LRN. Quiet 22 semi LRN. Sub-sonic LHP. Standard velocity LRN. Clean 22 sub-sonic poly LRN.
710-1070fps respectively.
The HP rounds had great effect on target.

My experience with CCI Quiets is that they are inefficient killers. A brain shot is a brain shot, but if you had to take a body/lung shot they take a very long time to kill. This is with a solid bullet, I didn't have the segmented version available to try. Accuracy was mediocre.

They're close range rounds, replace the need to buy a pellet gun.

I was surprised at the sub hp rounds. My hp experience is based on speed. These certainly do not have that!
I have done a bit of shooting with CCI subsonic stuff as well, and I agree that the HP stuff really works well. It may be my preferred bullet for pest control. I had some targets I shot at 25 yards where I tested the accuracy of various rounds, and the subsonic HP stuff was quite good. In fact, it outshot the CCI Standard stuff out of my CZ452 Varmint. The Quiet's and Quiet Seg. weren't great, but I'd use them at 25 yards

I tried CCI quiets on grouse one year. Was not impressed at all, lost a few birds that I definitely hit but were still able to disappear in the underbrush. Meanwhile CCI Standard Velocity has been a great grouse killer for me, and far more consistent with accuracy, so I'll stick with that.

I agree. I bought about 500 Quiet's a couple years ago with high hopes of them being effective on grouse. I often hunt in areas that have other seasons open, and the quietness was appealing (so as to not disturb other hunters). However, they've been turned into linking rounds now, especially when my kids are with me. I'm sticking to the Standards for grouse now.
