CCI Velocitor? Anyone using them?

I've been having some intermitent issue with function and accuracy on my ruger 10/22. The function problem is about every 50 or so rounds I will get a FTE. Accuracy issue is that the ammo i have been using starts really wandering past 100 yards. Problem ammo i've been using is Federal bulk 550 box. I've ordered a brick of CCI Velocitors and from the inet reviews I've read this ammo may fix both my issues. I am hoping to push my little 10/22 out to 300 yards.

Now for my questions.. Is anyone on here using this ammo (CCI Velocitor)? What is your opinion of it?

I use the velocitors on a regular basis. I have no problem with ejection, but then the action on my 10/22 is slicker than snot. I have, on a couple occasions had FTFs but when that happens, I clear and reload and %100 of the time, the round fires with no problems. the only faster .22 ammo out are the stingers. the velocitros really "crack"

I was having some functioning issues with Federal Bulk 525 Value Pack ammo in my S&W 41 (FTE, stovepipe jams) and tried CCI Velocitors. The CCI ammo functioned flawlessly in my 41. I also tested for group size between the two brands at 35 yards, and the CCI grouped at half the size of the Federal rounds. Recoil and muzzle blast is noticeably greater with the CCI. Unfortunately, the CCI is many times the cost of Federals. Once again, you get what you pay for.

Its good stuff and a tough bullet too, great for small game. I have a couple recovered bullets fired into soft sand at about 10 yds that expanded nicely and look like they retained alot of weight. I just need to clean them up and weigh them but the round performs very well. Its hyper velocity ammo so it will cycle the action quite aggressively which helps with ejection issues.

Velocitors are awesome. Pricey but awesome. Best hunting ammo for .22LR around. They are almost identical to the Stinger but heavier slug.

Best from what ive used, but I don’t use them a lot I have my scope set for blazers
I was hitting a piece of steel at 300 yards with my stock 1022.
I had to shoot a foot high but the windage was darn close.
In short try some blazers.

My Marlin 60 cycles them well enough, but the accuracy is poor. Winchester 333s produce groups about 3/4s the size out of the same gun. I still have a few boxes, so I'll be saving them for when I get a good bolty to work on.

Use them and love them in my CZ 452 Varmint .22LR. So accurate out to 150 yds.

Well got a call from the shop that my Velocitors are in. I'll be picking them up tomorrow and getting out to sight them in this weekend. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for all the input.

I agree... I use Velocitors also. There a fantastic, hard hitting & dependable round.

As many of you know from my posts here, I have a problem with getting TI-25 mags to feed correctly. I am at the stage that I have one of my mags cycling fine, but only after I have chambered a round from the standard Ruger 10 round mags. After I have chambered as above,I remove the Ruger mag and insert the TI-25 and dump the mag. No problem. This works for Winchester Wildcat, Stingers (brick) and bulk Blazers. ? A real conundrum.

If I can find some Velocitors, I will buy a few 50s and try them.

Wham-O, some time ago, you asked that how hard can it be to adjust 4 screws o the TI - 25? Well, still not perfect.

I have the thought that the heavy bullet in the Velocitors might work, from the TI-25 directly.

by the way, I can cycle dummy rounds from my 25 mags no problem, up to the 18 than I own!?

Cheers,

Youre still trying to get those damned things to work? I sent mine back a long time ago and never looked back. Overpriced junk IMO. BC steel lips are all that I use now.

sighted in with the velocitors yesterday, at 25 yards made one ragged hole with five shots. At 50 yards not much different, didn't measure but I'd say below half an inch. Field test today and a thirty yard shot took the tree rat I was aiming at with absolutely no issues and even though it was a shot placed just behind the front shoulder there was almost no meat damage to the squirrel. I am extremely happy with these so far. Haven't had a chance to do any long distance shots as of yet but will hopefully be able to very soon..

btw. zero'd at 25 yards, 1 mil dot above cross at 50 yards, dead on cross at 100 yards.
