Cdn or Brit Colt 45 Holster?

I have this holster and was told its for a US 45. Made in the style of the US holsters with belt hanger however it looks like its British or Canadian web material. I think there was some US 45's issued to Commonwealth troops but is this one of them? It does fit a 45 nicely.

Or...is it for something completely different...

I don't think the US used that style of hook arrangement, which is very similar to that used on the 51 pat webbing.
