Not sure if you can shoot IPSC sanctioned matches with CDP, but you can shoot CDP sanctioned matches with BB.

No for IPSC. you must complete a Black Badge course before shooting a sanction match.

No. - besides; you wouldn't want to. In addition to safe gun handling skills and shooting technique, the BB teaches the rules of IPSC. You'd be seriously confused at your first match without one, and probably choose to not come back, which would be a loss for both of us.

Agree 100%. Although both are shooting sports and both have holster qualification, they are different. IPSC open carry, CDP concealed carry. The rules are different, the scoring is different, the gear and firearms are different. Now that being said, take both, you will not regret it, they are both very good courses and both diciplines are a lot of fun to shoot.
