Hmm.

So I just got home with one of these a couple of hours ago.

It's been sat charging for said 2 hours and now when unplugged it refuses to turn on at all. If it's plugged in everything works fine, turns on, turns off, beeps.. registers shots and everything. As soon as it's unplugged it loses settings and won't turn on, almost like there is no battery there.. despite saying the battery is full. Tried a reset and all that, still nothing.

Anyone got any ideas or should I be sending it back? Not a happy camper right now. Electronics.. can't be trusted. Thanks.

I just tried mine. Its not charged and when I plug it in it shows the battery icon flashing. As long as its plugged in everything works. When I unplug it it says "battery low, turning off" is yours doing that? It won't turn on until it charges to a certain point in order to function not plugged in.

Yeah you might need to charge it longer. Leave it plugged in overnight, if it's not working in the morning return it.

The battery icon doesn't flash and shows full, as soon as I unplug it it turns off without warning. Very odd.

I'll give it a shot but it's looking like a return trip. Luckily I bought it locally. I think it's high time someone designed a shot timer that works, is easy to use and works even after being thrown off a building. If they can do it with a cellphone how hard can it be??

If you charge it overnight put it in a metal bowl. The 7000 doesn't have an overload or shutdown circuit. While none have burned down any houses you don't want to be the first.

Yikes, I've left mine charging for days. I'll think twice about that next time. Thanks Rob.

OP: My first one died within 2 weeks. If today it won't work, you likely have a dud. Get another one. My second one is still working after a couple years.

CED timer is an excellent timer with some flows.
Mine top start button is not engaging when press.
It looks bit like well taught but purly build device.

we have 6 ced 7000's at our club and a couple of problems are recurring like the micro switch for the top button breaking off the motherboard, and once we had a bad battery pack, but overall they have been top notch and even better CED has some of the best customer service going.

we sent in one of the ru readys to get fixed and it took over a year, average turnaround time on the CED warenty work is less then 3 weeks.

I took it back today to where I bought it. They sadly have none left but are sending the faulty one back and will be replacing it with a new one when they arrive.

With any luck I'll be all set this time next week. Thanks for all the suggestions.
