Has anyone bought this yet? I’ve seen it on store websites for a month now but there’s been no Canadian reviews of it yet and so I’m wondering if it’s garbage or a decent piece.

Haven't had a chance to shoot mine but it seems fairly well made though a ##### to assemble and take apart, hopping that part gets better with use.
Surprisingly large and heavy compared to some other now prohibited rifles.

Without the brass punch and hammer I could not have assembled it and yes it is ugly, the Alcor is nicer looking though I think the mechanical design of the Chimera is better.

Once together, abit of pain at 1st, not hard to take apart + put back once you know how to do it ...

A tad heavy of a gun really, but it runs great. I put a DiscoveryOpt 1x8x 30mm on mine, has a great Xmas tree - aiming points illuminated recticle. It has small aiming Dots.

Sighted in, not shabby with PMC Bronze ... likes Hornady VMax much much better - and its a varmit gun for me; that's what Im using in it. Was consistent - I can always work on my shooting/Im old, wearing gloves for shooting.

For a semi, accuracy expected. I believe it shoots under moa with the VMax - it was cold out lol, I moved abit shooting the Bronze, :0)

Thanks for that Hunter. I’ve yet to get mine out

I'd try one out if it was maybe half less ugly.
I'm sure future versions will be easier on the eyes.
The first version of those Turkish bolt guns looked ridiculous, then they trimmed them and they looked better.
I'm doubtful they are going to ban any more guns anytime soon, the buyback isn't going so good, makes no sense to add more at this time.

I bit and went for it.
It ate what I fed it. Mounted a Leupold scope and cheek rest, just waiting for a chance to go shoot it again. It shot well for me, very controllable with brake, zero stoppages.
The only issue I had was with the mag catch, my mags would not seat or engage with catch whatsoever. I had to press on the mag catch for it to hold the mag in.
That was only after shooting the first five rounds………
I ended that range day and went home.
After carrying out a disassembly, I removed the mag catch and noticed a small piece of black plastic sitting in the mag catch recess. It must’ve got clipped off by the bolt head on the rear of the plastic mag. I reassembled and ran the mags thru loaded with dummy rounds. It was GTG for another range session.
I hope to get out after this Sask prairie blizzard blows over.
It liked 55gr Hornady V-Max and FMJ bullets so far. I’d like to try the Barnes TTSX to see how they shoot. My Axis puts these in the same 1” square at 100 yds and have taken several white tail deer with it. “Smack Down!!!”
Anyways. I’m happy with my purchase and would even consider buying the .308 Win version.
Happy holidays all.
