I am looking a buying a few things from a fellow CGNer but he doesn't take EMT so since I hate snail mail my mind has been going over ways to send money and I think I came up with one while I was buying my daughter minutes for her virgin cellphone... What if they were a pay and talk phone client - you could buy them a pin # and they could add it to their phone before shipping the stuff. As I understand it, phone pins are very secure now as the pin only gets validated at the til so very little chance of bogus pins. And, unlike a gift card, the card doesn't actually have to be there.

I'd like to know if ppl think it would work for small stuff <$50 or so... is this an inspired idea or is it just the effects of a pizza-induced coma from last night?

If someone isn't techy enough for an EMT, cell minutes ain't gonna cut it. If you find someone agreeable to those terms, good for you, but seriously, I don't see it catching on. Most folk are selling their stuff to raise $$$ to pay bills, and useful as cell minutes might be to some, most would rather have the $$$.

You're thinking outside the box though :)
