So i use quite a few trail cams and among them a few Spypoints . I've sent a couple of those back and they've been returned now working . Decided i wanted a cellcam so i bought another Spypoint . It sent pics for two weeks and stopped . Picked the cam up on Sunday and the batteries were fine but i put in a new set of batteries , just to see . Nope , didn't work . Called Spypoint today and talked to a guy from his car on a cell phone . Spypoint doesn't do their own customer service or repair work . He told me to check the batteries and i replied that i did . OK , send it in .

Going to phase the Spypoints out as they die and replace them but the question is , what kind of "cell cams" are you guys using that you are happy with that are compatible with our cell companies ? I'm in Ontario .
 
knock on wood the only issue I had with my spypoint was corrected by changing out a bad SD card. They do seem finiky on SD cards and following the proper procedure for firmware updates. It is unfortunate that their customer service is so poor though.
 
I have a Spypoint Cell-link adapter on one of my older trail cams. It worked well out of the box but sometimes would go quiet for a few days due to the poor cell coverage. I've since added a cheap (~$20) cell booster antenna from Amazon and it works flawlessly now. Spypoint has their own booster antenna but it is more expensive (~$80).

Spypoint cameras come with 100 photos per month free. You can purchase additional capacity on either a month-by-month or annual subscription. You don't need an additional cell account as it comes with its own service included.
 
Buddy has 2 ridgetec cams now and loves them. But $$$. His plan is to have one at every stand he has so he can check the pics the night before a hunt to see which spot has a bruiser near it.
 
I love my Spypoint Micro link LTE (think it's the cheapest one). It's only been up 3 weeks though. To see sharp pics, that you can zoom in on, I heard you have to plug the card into a computer.
My buds spypoint stopped sending pics, he just did a software update and it worked again.

Nope, the cams come with its own sim card and sends you the pics based on intervals you choose. But if your cam ends up taking over 100 pics in a month you have to upgrade your free package to something else otherwise it will stop sending them to you (you can still go get them from your cam though i believe, ive never had it take more than 100 in a month except for during turkey season and i ended up paying the extra 5 bucks that month).

Yes, the pics that are sent to your phone are compressed so they arent great quality. They do that to save data. The pic that is saved to the SD card is as high quality as your settings allow (like 8mb or whatever)

you also have the option for a small fee to request the HD image. I think it was like $5 for 50. I've only request 4 so far but they are significantly better photos. You do have to wait for the next time your camera communicates and its going to use more of your battery life. I'm not hanging pic's on my wall, so most of the time I see what I want to, but the odd HD pic is nice.
 
Well s**t, I just ordered a Spypoint Link Micro. A little uneasy now reading some of the reviews... Here's hoping I don't regret the purchase!

Just make sure you have a good signal, if its 40% it wont send reliably.

I use 2 cams and 1 cell link adapter and the cams both send consistently but the adapter is hit or miss due to its location.

Not all but many issues are guys not following the setup instructions properly and sd card issue. Read the instructions
I like mine
 
My Spypoint Outpost just crapped the bed again.
First time I sent it in under warranty.
This one had two years worth and they tried to charge me for the repairs.
The gent said their cameras only came with one year warranty.
On their site the warranty info was plainly visible.
And what a piece of garbage to try and update the firmware.
Now I can't find this model on their site.
Tried calling them and it was at least a half hour wait on the caller list.

Won't be buying any more of their junk.

'nuff typed.
