Not sure how I would have felt if I was the guy asked to drive it home after the test though...
 
Very interesting video. I thought the tank would of been in much worse condition being so close to the epicenter of the blast.
 
When I was in cadets in the 70's, I took a radio operators course offered by the military. One of the solidiers had all sorts of disfiguring pigmentation on his face, and he claimed it was due to being present at nuclear blasts in Australia. He said the military was rather reckless back then.

I knew about this story, but there's a grim little piece that wasn't mentioned.
In this tank 14 men served, out of those 14 men, 12 died of cancer, there was no. NBC protection in this tank, and the radiation got deep within the metal, as such all who spent their service in that tank, they later died.
To anyone who thought that tanks that were nuclear tests were good to be put back in service ought be shot.
