Looks like CAI is remanufacturing snipers.
I know they've been doing this for a while but I did not know they were remanufacturing parts. I'm not sure I like CAI remanufacturing these rifle BUT I guess that makes me a heretic because I wouldn't mind trying one.

Even if one found a scope and managed to get it on the rifle, I doubt if it would be anywhere near aligned with the bore. It's NOT a T, but simply a No 4 with a set of pads bunged on. However I have seen a bunch of sporter enfields for sale here on CGN that look WAY worse than this.

Look at the cocking piece on this repro.

I guess it's their way to turn a $125 US rifle into a $400 rifle. Proper #32 scopes on ebay are about $1000 + these days, the origional mounting bracket around $400+, the origional scope can about $400, and the chest about another $400. Add to that the origional leather sling for another $75 to $150, and the lense cover for another $100 +, and you might as well buy an origional mismatched set to start with.
You would think they could do better than the allen screws to hold the pads on though. I would not expect any form of collimation out of those brackets.

I think I'll stick with my LongBranch no4mk1*(T) thanks.

According to people who seen these, they are very poorly assembled and pad are rarely in alignment!

Spotting a fake T sniper rifle

The problem with these repros is they "could" be mistaken for a genuine article by an enthousiastic beginning collector.

The tip-offs are the cocking piece as mentioned, the misaligned and off balance pads attached with modern Allen key screws, the wrong type of backsight, and the total absence of markings.

This article was written after a flurry of postings on www.jouster.com's Enfield board. Worth a look. I bookmarked it.
