Former Prohibited Weapons Order No. 13 (in effect since January 1, 1995)
...
The firearm of the design commonly known as the Cetme Sport Auto Rifle, and any variant or modified version of it.
If this is a military model then the CETME "sport" likely followed the original military model ergo the mil version couldn't really be a "variant" then... ala the sig 540 vs the 550. Perhaps a remote chance then?
I only dream of owning rifles like this... If tactical imports somehow got this one in I would buy it guaranteed. But alas it is prohib. way to go antis.
Seems like it isn't a varient of the Cetme Sporter.... the sporter was a 308 for one, and I can't say absolutely for sure that there aren't any interchangeable parts, but the receivers certainly are nothing alike
I'm sure they prohibbed it as a variant of the CETME/G3 - the Sport was one of those rifles built up to beat the US "Assault Rifle" ban with a thumbhole stock and the bayo lug ground off.
